Welcome to Cullercoats Walking Club. We are not affiliated to any church, although some of our members belong to Cullercoats Methodist Church and we make use of their notice board and car parks for which we are grateful. We are a diverse group of individuals who share a common love of our beautiful countryside. We are always glad to meet new members and if you have never done any serious walking please do contact us to find out how the simple act of walking can change your life. There is no joining fee and no commitment to do anything more than have fun.

Some of the walks require fine weather with good visibility so if it is cloudy or raining on the day of the walk we may switch the venue. We have several other walks in hand. Also, where the walk is long or strenuous, the organisers will offer shorter alternative routes for anyone who does not want to do the full walk on the day (and you won't be left on your own).

We usually meet in the car park at Cullercoats Methodist Church at 9am.Wear boots or strong shoes and bring a packed lunch. Don't forget a plastic bag to sit on. Bring a hat and gloves when walking on the moors.

Everyone is welcome - you don't have to be a member of Cullercoats Methodist church - just turn up on the day and transport will be arranged within the group. We normally put something in a kitty to cover petrol for the drivers. The walks are not route marches; we stop and enjoy the views and progress is only as fast as the slowest walker (who are never encouraged to excess).

You can contact any of the group members via Cullercoats Methodist Church office on  0191 251 5801 for a detailed schedule of walks. Contact members are Lynda & Kevin Prosser or Ronnie Teasdale. You can just turn up on the relevant Saturday morning as we don't have a subscription or membership fee.  You can be an experienced walker or a beginner—we have arrangements to suit all capabilities with short cuts & rest periods. We don’t do route marches, we just have fun, we wait patiently for everyone to catch up. Contact the e-mail address if you are not sure about fitness or capability; we cater for everyone.
